What does a software company have to do with environment?

We neither do heavy industry manufacturing, produce industrial waste from our software office nor are in trouble with environmental organizations.

However, we think that as a software company we can also do something. To be environmental sensitive one does not need to be a heavy industry company. We as Getron BH implement the following solutions and we research for methods to increase our awareness.

 We make a point of choosing our electronic product and white goods from energy saving products.

 We prefer unleaded and energy saving models in computer hardware components.

 In our whole office we use energy saving lighting equipment.

 We do not leave any unused electrical devices on stand by mode. We shut them down using the power-off button.

 We prefer rechargable batteries for devices that work on batteries and also keep the used batteries in battery box.

 We consume minimum amount of paper by not printing when it is not really neccessary.

 We separate out our litter into glass, plastic, paper, aliminyum and domestic waste before handing to the municipal refuse collector.

 For the cleaning material used in our office we prefer enviroment-friendly cleaning liguids which do not harm the environment and are biodegrable.

 We support individual and organisational environmentalists.

 We plant 5 trees through TEMA for every new employee that joins our team.

 To be able to do E-Waste (Electronic Waste) recycle we signed a protocol with “EAG Geri Dönüşüm” company in accordance with the EU commision's Waste of Electronic and Electrical Equipment(WEEE) regulation numbered 2002/96/EC. We give all our company's and stuff's electronic waste to EAG. This way our electronic waste is recycled without damaging the environment and also EAG makes a donation to TEMA in our name for the planting of trees.
